Cheryl Toth, MBA
Consultant and Speaker
Cheryl’s combined experience in physician practice management and marketing, technology development and implementation and process improvement make her uniquely equipped to help physicians optimize people, process, and technology to achieve success in today’s evolving healthcare environment.
Cheryl has particular experience in the practice operations of orthopaedics, plastic surgery, allergy, neurosurgery, and ENT, and has functioned as an interim manager for both internists and surgeons. An early adopter of the Internet, she has helped physicians use the Web to strengthen physician-patient relationships and improve practice efficiencies since 1999. She balances analytical and business management skills with an ability to develop marketing and communications tools focused on practice building and the patient perspective.
Known as a lively and entertaining speaker, Cheryl has presented management and marketing workshops and virtual training sessions to thousands of physicians and healthcare managers nationwide. For four years, she taught Business Communications as an adjunct faculty member of Scottsdale Community College.
Cheryl has written extensively in the field of healthcare management and e-healthcare for Medical Economics, Managed Care Interface, Physicians Practice, Journal of Medical Practice Management, Strategic Orthopedics, and Plastic Surgery News. She is a co-author and the content editor of the 2000 publication, eHealthcare: Harnessing the Power of eCommerce & eCare, and created three human resource products on CD-ROM. Cheryl also helped develop the specialty marketing guides A Guide to Marketing Your Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Practice, Building Your Interventional Neuroradiology Practice, and Building Your Spine Practice.
In addition to her work at KarenZupko & Associates, Inc., Cheryl managed the operations, collaboration support team, and ongoing technology enhancements for the Ascension Health Exchange, the online community and innovation sharing portal of Ascension Health. Cheryl also has experience in product and new business development, which allow her to use creative problem-solving to develop services that meet physician and hospital system needs.
Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science in Music from Western Michigan University and an MBA in Finance from Loyola University Chicago.
