Deborah Grider helps physicians and office staff to improve their understanding of reimbursement and coding issues. She brings to her consulting and teaching assignments over 30 years of healthcare industry experience: in the clinical setting, as a practice administrator, and as an educator. Her broad range of expertise makes her a comprehensive and practical consultant and instructor.

For KZA, Deborah teaches and consults with private physician practices from solo to large group practice, multi-specialty clinics, and academic departments. She teaches specialty-specific coding education programs and also provides coding and documentation reviews to help client improve their coding accuracy, reduce risk, and ensure they are capturing all allowable dollars.

As part of the KZA team, Ms. Grider teaches nationally on behalf of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

Deborah is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), a Certified Professional Coder-hospital (CPC-H), a Certified Professional Coder-Payer (CPC-P), and E/M specialist with the American Academy of Professional Coders, and a Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) with the American Health Information Management Association. She is the published author of several coding editions offered by the American Medical Association among others.

She is an Approved PMCC Instructor for the Professional Medical Coding course and is licensed by the American Academy of Professional Coders. She is the former director of the Medical Coding Program for Clarian Health Partners.

Deborah is the President of the American Academy of Professional Coders National Advisory Board and has been a board member since 2002.

She was awarded her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
