Richard A. Roski, MD, MBA, FACS
Dr. Roski advises neurosurgeons and other surgical specialists about the business side of medical practice and healthcare. The leading edge solutions he delivers to clients are gleaned from his 20+ years as a practicing neurosurgeon and astute physician leader and business manager.
For 20 years, Dr. Roski was the managing partner of Quad City Neurosurgical Associates P.C. in Davenport, Iowa. After selling the practice to Genesis Medical Center, Dr. Roski is now a physician employee of Genesis Neurosurgical Associates, also in Davenport. Dr. Roski became an expert in the areas of ambulatory surgery center (ASC) development and management, managed care contracting, and neurosurgery compensation agreements through his work with Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners, LLC.
For many years, Dr. Roski has been active on a national level, addressing physician reimbursement and practice management issues on behalf of neurosurgeons. He served as the Congress of Neurological Surgeons advisor to the American Medical Association’s CPT editorial panel and participated in the development of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons reimbursement committee (he was also a member). Dr. Roski was President of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in 1994, has served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and has been a long-standing member of the North American Spine Society.
An engaging and knowledgeable speaker, Dr. Roski has overseen and participated in the instruction of Reimbursement and Coding courses for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons since 1995. He also speaks about practice management and healthcare issues nationwide.
Dr. Roski is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and his neurosurgical training was completed at Case Western Reserve's affiliated hospitals. He has an engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University. Before entering private practice, Dr. Roski was an Assistant Professor of surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
