Stimulus Bill Means Positive Changes in COBRA

Good news for you! Patients unable to pay for COBRA now may be able to maintain their coverage with help from the stimulus package.

The recently signed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the Stimulus Act) includes changes to COBRA that will directly affect you and your patients.  Under the Act, individuals that lose their health insurance due to involuntary employment from September 1^st, 2008 through December 31^st, 2009 will receive a temporary 65% subsidy to continue their coverage through COBRA.
