New ICD-9 Codes Effective 10/1/09

The new ICD-9 codes are here!  These are effective October 1, 2009.  You can find the original files on the CMS website.

Here is a Word document that includes:

• New ICD-9 diagnosis codes
• New ICD-9 procedure codes
• Invalid ICD-9 diagnosis codes (there were no invalid ICD-9 procedure codes this year)
• Revised ICD-9 diagnosis codes
• Revised ICD-9 procedure codes

You’ll want to read through these carefully and determine which codes are pertinent to your practice and update your practice management information system dictionary.  Happy coding!
