You’ve got a practice management system and a website, a few of the physicians capably use PDRs, and now Dr. New is prodding the group to evaluate EMRs and some new-fangled collaboration software.
Before you write a check, take inventory of the practice’s existing technology and thoughtfully evaluate what you need for the short and long term. While new technologies can be effective, how well they help staff and physicians get work done is critical in deciding what to buy and how much to spend.
This session provides a framework for conducting a Technology Diagnostic in your practice. You’ll learn key technology trends in the public and private sectors; you will receive tools and resources for identifying, planning for, and implementing high value technologies.
As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:
- Give their practice a ‘Tech-Up’ using a comprehensive checklist
- Maximize the use of online services such as authorization and claims/payment transmission
- Review the practice’s website and prioritize the ‘pain points’ that require improvement
- Evaluate the pros and cons of pay-per-click and other outsourced marketing services
- Recognize national trends that impact technology decision-making
