Susan Hibbs, MHSA is an experienced, collaborative executive and consultant with the ability to see solutions for a myriad of healthcare challenges. Her career spans hospital systems and private practice with experience in orthopaedic surgery, radiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, urology, plastic & reconstructive surgery and ambulatory surgery centers. Her unique background and education allow for a well-rounded perspective from executive, operational, and clinical positions combined with her drive and capability to think outside of the box and implement changes. Susan works as an affiliate to KZA where her expertise is highly valued, while also maintaining her own consulting firm Shibbs Consulting, Inc.

Under her leadership, Susan and her teams successfully completed many projects, including planning and construction of a new $22M, 75,0000 sq foot building and renovation of a 32,000 sq foot building in one 18 month period, and renovation of a 52,000 sq foot building on time and under budget with only two days of lost productivity.

Operational transformations, efficiencies and process improvements achieved include: implementation at ASC of point of service collections increasing revenues 18% in six months; bringing an ambulatory surgery center in compliance in five weeks after a failed state audit; $470,000 of governmental quality program incentive; consolidation of scheduling protocols from 125 to 20 for twenty-three provider orthopaedic surgery practice, and conversion of film to PACs, paper to electronic health records, to name a few.

Susan’s education—a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences—along with her vast experience and skill set provide an excellent foundation to lead organizations in the challenging and ever-changing environment of today’s healthcare.
