“It’s a total nightmare!”
The physician’s voice was a mixture of fear and anger. He had hired his cousin’s next-door neighbor’s billing company, which had reportedly worked miracles for other practices. But with this physician’s claim volume, the one-woman company quickly fell behind. In an effort to cover her incompetence, the owner/biller limited communications with practice staff, avoided accountability and blamed denials on ‘new payor protocols.
