Cheryl is a creative problem-solver, lively instructor, and “doer” who guides physicians and managers to increase revenue and achieve practice goals. She works with physicians and managers to improve prioritization, productivity, and leadership, and is focused on increasing the skills and confidence of the entire practice team.

Known for her upbeat communication style, Cheryl brings 23 years of practice consulting and technology product and executive management to her projects. She has performed practice assessments for physicians in orthopaedics, aesthetic surgery, otolaryngology, and neurosurgery, and focuses on the use of technology to improve operations, financial management, marketing, and organizational effectiveness. Cheryl has functioned as an interim manager for surgeons and has participated in practice mergers. She has more than 500 print and online publishing credits and develops educational content and programs for CareCredit, Enaltus, Depuy Synthes, and the Post Graduate Research Institute.

As a trainer, Cheryl combines teaching and storytelling with practical advice. She has delivered programs for organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, state Medical Group Management Association chapters, AthenaHealth, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Plastic Surgery Administrators Association.

In addition to her work at KZA, Cheryl was VP, Product & Operations for Healthloop, where she created the cloud-based product’s alpha and beta programs, led initial product development, initiated company operations, and interfaced with investors. She also held the role of VP, Digital & Social Media for iConecto, where she directed the operational support team for the AscensionHealthExchange knowledge management portal and SmartMOVES safe patient handling programs at Ascension Health. Also at iConecto, she led physician practice technology projects for Prematics E-Prescribing and Microsoft.

Cheryl has a B.S. in Music from Western Michigan University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University Chicago, and received professional coaching training from Erickson College. She is a former adjunct faculty member of Scottsdale Community College, where she taught Business Communications. Cheryl is a board member of the Santa Cruz Humane Society in Nogales, Arizona and a former board member of Tucson-based, Native Seeds/SEARCH.

Cheryl is a competitive runner and life-long learner who enjoys culinary, visual, and performing arts, and loves to travel. Her passions include volunteering for a local animal shelter, watching college football, and drinking craft beer.
