Jennifer Cabrera is a board-certified Physician Assistant. As a licensed healthcare provider, she has spent nearly 20 years in healthcare – mostly in clinical practice as an Orthopedic Surgical Physician Assistant. As an Orthopedic PA, she has performed thousands of surgeries acting as the first assist, provided care and treatment to a multitude of patients, and has managed the orthopedic care for athletes of all ages, both collegiate and at the professional level.
In 2011, Jennifer accepted the role of the Director of Operations and Director of Business Development for Snibbe Orthopedics – a well-known and busy Los Angeles-based orthopedic practice. There she was able to garner her skills in the oversight of all aspects of the private orthopedic practice – including revenue cycle management, human resources, strategic planning, and marketing to name a few. She acted as primary investigator for research studies and oversaw orthopedic residents, fellows, and PA students during rotations with the office. Jennifer was instrumental in the expansion of the practice, recruitment and development of new surgeon partners, implementation of two EMR/EPM systems, and orchestrated the move of Snibbe Orthopedics to its new location.
Jennifer has worked in both the ASC and inpatient hospital setting – functioning as an Orthopedic Service Line Manager and has experience in Case Management. She has created new policy and procedure manuals for ASCs and hospitals and has provided oversight to facilities in preparation for AAAHC and JCAHO accreditations. In addition, Jennifer has served on the development team for the construction of a new orthopedic and spine surgical hospital in Los Angeles.
Through these various avenues, Jennifer has found a true passion for streamlining processes and workflows to maximize efficiency across the patient continuum of care. She understands first-hand the challenges of managing the day-to-day issues of a busy practice while maximizing organizational performance, strategizing for improvements, and facilitating accelerated growth for a group and/or entity.
Jennifer holds dual Masters Degrees from Touro University – California in Physician Assistant Studies and in Public Health. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, and spending time with her family including her puppy, Wrigley.
